In Science this term we have begun a unit of work titled – Material World. We have been investigating the properties  of natural and processed materials. The students have investigated objects found in the classroom and out in the school grounds. We have realised that  natural and processed materials have a range of physical properties, and how these properties can influence their use. During the unit we have done lots of questioning and predicting, proposing hypothesis and suggesting possible outcomes and solutions.

One of the investigations titled Gripping Gloves was an interesting activity where we looked at all sorts of gloves. We were able to name up the function of the gloves, the materials used and how the  properties of each material used influenced the use of the gloves.

We didn’t realise that there were so many types of gloves. They were made from lots of different materials and were made for a variety of purposes.
