NAIDOC Week
This week we have been celebrating NAIDOC week, meaning that students have been undertaking many opportunities to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and practices.
The weeklong celebration started with a traditional smoking ceremony organised by Ms Munro, flag raising and Welcome to Country presented very proudly by Tom Englert. Each day at lunch time there have been various activities on offer by Ms Munro such as shell necklaces and ochre handprints and painting.

Classes have also been focussing on NAIDOC week in class. I have a great many stories being read and enjoyed as I have visited classrooms this week. 4/5 Munro also made these hands, having reflected upon what reconciliation means when it is put into practice.
