A very heart felt thank you to all of our families for supporting our staff to attend the Union Stop Work Action yesterday. I can honestly say that I felt deeply touched by this support. So much of what we are campaigning for is about increased support for our precious children; increased support in classrooms, increased support in the form of more social workers, speech and language pathologists and psychologists, increased support in the form of smaller class sizes. A message which came through repeatedly from the speakers at the rally yesterday said was “…because we care.” This, I felt, perfectly summed up the reason why we were gathered on the lawns of Parliament House.
