Grade 5/6 were an absolute pleasure to be with on camp this year. We were grateful to have been joined by Rod Dransfield who introduced us to some fun games and was great company. Some of our highlights include going on the big dipper. This required a lot of bravery as we were hoisted up to the roof rafters on an indoor 6m swing then had to pull the rope to release the catch that held us there. There was a lot of breath holding and one terrified scream. Other highlights were the beach discovery and rock pool ramble, archery, team challenges, cooking damper over the campfire, indoor rock climbing, wheelchair basketball and the movie night. By far the most enjoyable part of our camp was turning up to the dining room to find all manner of glorious food. We ate 6 times a day!! Our dorm rooms were cosy and the games room and outdoor play equipment kept us busy. It was an especially fun challenge to see who could get to the bottom of the giant slides the fastest. We may or may not have used our sleeping bags to speed us up! In our spare time we walked to the park, played tag on the oval and got strategic with a game of Spies and Generals. Overall, we had a fantastic time. A big thank you to Rod, Mrs Lees and Mrs Tucker for accompanying the students and a huge thank you to the students for your excellent behaviour and positive attitude whilst we were away.
