Prep Report
As part of our Inquiry into what living things need we have been exploring plants.
Earlier this year we were gifted two large raised beds, and this term a very kind family helped fill them full of good potting soil, all ready to plant.
During numeracy time we looked at the size plants would grow to, and explored what kind and how many plants we could fit in the spaces using physical materials to represent different plants. We then had a vote and recorded the data as a graph to determine the most popular plants from our shortlist.
Three weeks ago we planted seedlings of pansies, snap dragons, poppies, allysum and stock in the gardens. Indoors we planted seeds of nasturtiums, snow peas and sweet peas. We watched them grow roots and shoots, it was wonderful to see them take off!
This week we were able to plant our seedlings in the gardens, at the back and sides so they can grow on the trellis and over the edges. We can't wait to see them bloom and eat some crunchy snow peas!
