Principal's Report
Wishing everyone a very happy and safe holiday.
Mrs Bender’s Retirement
On the 17th October 1973 a very special lady first started working in our school. That lady was Mrs Bender.
This week marks her final full week of service before she retires on 17th October this year. The retirement date was specially selected by Mrs Bender, as it signifies 50 years of continuous service, not only within the Department, but at Glen Huon Primary School.
It goes without saying that this is a truly remarkable accomplishment!
Generations of students and families have been welcomed into our school by Mrs Bender. Her care and compassion are second to none, and the little things she does help connect with the children, staff and families in our school to make them feel safe and included are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the wonderful presence and impact she has at Glen Huon Primary school.
In her humble and gracious style, Mrs Bender has requested that there be no big event to farewell her. However she will be spending time visiting each class on her last day, catching up with everyone and sharing many fond memories and stories.
I know that many of you will have farewell messages for Mrs Bender and will pop into the office in the coming days to wish her well.
