Kindergarten Inquiry
On Thursdays the Kindergarten children spend time out in our amazing bush space and sometimes we head across to the Glen Huon park to observe changes we can see in a particular oak tree.
A chance question about a book we were reading together led to an inquiry about our local oak tree, acorns, growth cycles and seasonal change. We have made observations, done observational drawings, collected ‘scientific samples’, wondered, posed theories and… waited. We are wondering where the acorns actually grow from on the tree? Is it from the flowers? Is it from the stems? We are going back today to see what changes have taken place over the school holidays to see what we notice and wonder about the changes we have seen today.

It has been wonderful to hear the thinking, theories and questions from this group of motivated thinkers and inquirers!
