Grade 2/3/4 Remembrance Day
This coming Saturday 11th November is Remembrance Day. This is the date that marked the end of World War One. Remembrance Day is a time when we reflect upon the achievements of the men and women who not only fought during World War One but those who fought in other wars. We still have men and women in our defence force who are taking part in peace keeping missions and evacuations all around the world.
Maybe take some time to find out the significance of the poppies on our wreath?
Go along to one of the services if you can and as it is a time when our community gathers to share our history and reflect upon on a peaceful future.
A service will be held at the Huonville Cenotaph at 10:30am and families are invited to attend.
As part of this, a beautiful wreath made by the 2/3/4 class will be presented during the wreath laying ceremony and a number of our students will join students from other Huon schools to lead the singing of the National Anthem.
Lest We Forget.
