Principal's Report

We have had another lovely week here at school with lots of learning happening in classrooms as children and teachers get into the new routines of the classrooms and school year. Today we had our first canteen day with an added bonus of icy poles to help quench the thirst during the extremely hot weather.  Thank you to our canteen team for their support. Children have also been enjoying having a piece of toast and a drink of milo from breakfast club each morning.  Thank you all or our breakfast club volunteers.

Yesterday, we had an all school get together for some whole school messages. We spoke to the children about the importance of bringing and wearing a broad brimmed hat when outside at recess and lunch.  If they do not have an appropriate hat for play time they will now be required to only play on the shaded synthetic grassed area.  Please help your child to remember their hat, ensuring their name is visible within the hat so if it is misplaced it can be returned in a timely manner.

Some other reminders that we gave were,

  • Keeping our grounds and playground clean by putting rubbish in the bin.
  • If using sticks, they are to be only used in the bush for building cubbies.
  • If they are adventurous and are climbing trees to climb higher than I am tall.

Signing your child out early.

Please remember that if you need to collect your child early from school, please pop into the office and sign them out before leaving the school ground.

Return of Validation and permission forms

On Monday you will have received an envelope with your child’s validation and permission forms.  Please take the time to complete these and return them to school as soon as possible.  We require them returned before next week's swim carnival for our Prep-Grade 6 students.

Naplan

Grade 3 and 5 students will be sitting the Naplan from the 13th March.  Please take the time to read the information that came home with your child this week.  If you have any concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.
