Principal's Report
Another amazing week here at Glen Huon Primary School. I feel so privileged to be part of such a lovely school community.
On Tuesday morning I watched as a crate full of homemade jam was delivered to the canteen to be used at breakfast club to ensure the children are stating their day with full bellies and ready to learn. I know many of the children will have already eaten but breakfast club is more than just for those needing breakfast or a little bit extra food it is also a bit of a social gathering. If you have any excess fruit that you would like to donate to be made into jam for breakfast club, please drop it off at the school office.
Swimming Carnival – Today we held our swim carnival for Prep-6 students. Thank you to all the children, staff and families who came along and supported during the day.
School uniform – Wearing school uniform to school is a great way for students to feel like they are a part of the school community and creates a sense of belonging. At times this is tricky and not possible but whenever possible please encourage your child to come to school in school uniform. If you need, we have some second hand uniform available at the office.
Hats – Thank you to all the children who are remembering to wear their hat each day and for families for helping them remember to pop their hat in their bag if they cannot leave it at school.
Validation and permission forms – Thank you to all our families who have taken the time to return their forms in a timely manner. Mel and Genevieve in the office will now get onto the very large task of inputting all the data and making sure we have the most updated information for your child.
At recess and lunch there is lots to do around the school, play on the courts with equipment, in the bush (at lunch) and build a cubby on the oval and join in a game of cricket, in the sandpit and do some sandpit cooking. We also have drawing paper, colouring in and large games for those wanting something a little less energetic. Some of our senior students decided to build a tower with the dominos this week. Here is a photo of their finished product.
