Prep - One Class Update
What a busy first 4 weeks we have had in Prep/One Class!
We have settled in beautifully and have been busy learning all about sounds and letters in our morning Literacy Block.
Every morning we enjoy a wake and shake time, followed by our phonological awareness session, helping us to be good listeners for sounds, syllables, rhyme and word recognition.
We have learnt 4 new letters and single short phonemes for a, t, b and l and we are already building these phonemes /a/ /t/ /b/ /l/ to make words like, at/bat/tab and lab.
The Grade 1 in this learning space have been working very hard with Donna Watson and have already reviewed all the short phonics from last year. The children are learning the routine of auditory, spelling and dictation processes to be successful readers and writers.

Every morning we finish with a story. Our favourite sharing stories these past few weeks have been ‘Pig the Pug’
We have our very own Pig the Pug who is going home with a class member every Friday for weekend visits!
