Principal's Report
Another wonderful week here at Glen Huon Primary. The students have been working hard to try their best with their learning and this has been evident during our NAPLAN testing over the past 2 weeks. On Monday we had to abandon the testing as Telstra was having some technical difficulties and we were not able to connect everyone at once – the students and teachers just took it in their stride and continued with other tasks, thank you for your flexibility and resilience. We have been able to reschedule the testing to ensure it is completed by the end of the week, with time for any catch-up tests for students who have been away. I am sure the students who have sat NAPLAN will enjoy their pizza tomorrow – Please look out for a note coming home with your child today.
A few reminders:
Hats – We have a few weeks left of our term, please help remind your child to bring their hat each day.
This week we move to our fortnightly newsletter – please give us some feedback about how we can make this even better by contacting the school office.
On Wednesday 27th we have a group of students heading off to the Huon and Channel Swimming Carnival – we wish them all luck and know that they will do the school proud with their efforts.
Next Thursday 28th the SRC will be running their first event for 2024 – Students (and families if you would like to join in) are asked to wear an Easter hat and free dress. We look forward to seeing all the amazingly creative hats at 9am during the parade. I know what I will be doing over the weekend! We will share some photos of the creations on Facebook next week and in the newsletter once we return from the Easter break.
As there will not be a newsletter next week, we wish everyone a safe and fun EASTER break. Remember school returns on Wednesday the of 3rd April. We look forward to hearing stories about what everyone gets up to and if Easter bunny comes to visit.
