I Wonder

I wonder is a phrase that you will begin to hear a lot at Glen Huon.  We are beginning a whole school focus on inquiry learning and encouraging the curiosity of students about the world around them and their learning.   Curiosity leads to powerful learning.

At the front of the school something is happening that happens every year. It is very beautiful.   I am deliberatley not naming this happening as I encourage you and your children to discover for yourself.  Once you have discovered this happening begin to wonder why it happens and how?  

Assembly Monday 1st of April

SCHOOL NURSE

Our school nurse is Emma Middleton and she attends the school one day a week on a Thursday.

The program supports schools to create a physical and social environment that promotes health and wellbeing, and assists to improve the health and education outcomes for children and young people in Tasmania.

The Focus of this program for primary schools is,

• vision and hearing screening
• developmental assessments as required
• health promotion to run in line with local, state and national initiatives (Move Well Eat Well, Sun Smart)
• health education to run in line with the Australian Curriculum (growth and development, drugs and alcohol, mental health and resilience, body image, protective behaviours)
• addressing medical issues that may be impacting learning
