My name is Emma Middleton. I am the Primary School Health Nurse for Glen Huon Primary School. I have recently returned from maternity leave, so would like to remind all families of my role in school and how to contact me.

My role includes:

• Kindergarten health assessments
• Vision and hearing screening ( all grades)
• Developmental screening
• Health advice and support
• Health education and promotion in class e.g. dental hygiene, growth and development and healthy nutrition
• Assisting schools with health management for children with known medical conditions and liaising with external services e.g. Asthma Australia, GP, Diabetes Educators & Physio.

I will be spending time with the Kinders and getting to know the children to help them prepare for their screening.

A health questionnaire and consent form for the kinder health assessment has been sent home to all kinder children. Please make sure this is returned to school ASAP. I cannot complete the assessment for your child unless the form is returned.  If anyone needs help filling these in please don’t hesitate to ask me or your child’s teacher.

I am able to accept referrals for any health related issues for any child from any parent or member of staff.
