Principal's Report 30-4-2019
It is great to be back with such wonderful children. I love to be out in the morning greeting the students as they arrive. Their smiles are infectious and help start the day in a magic way.
We welcome our new chaplain Emily Wynhoven to our staff.
Emily has lived in the Huon Valley for 11 years, where she has been deeply involved in her community, from fundraisers to community support events, working as a chaplain and also as a harpist and singer.
She is passionate about creating a safe and encouraging environment for all young people where they can feel secure, speak freely, grow strong, and develop from incredible children into amazing youth.
Emily respects every child as individuals with different thoughts, cultures, spiritualties, dreams, challenges and aspirations, and seeks to support our students in alignment with our positive behaviour support program and KidsMatter focus.
The Glen Huon Primary Cross Country is on Thursday. The program is advertised elswhere in this newsletter. Come along and join in the fun and barrack for your child's sports house.
Thank-you to the Grade 6 students and Mrs Tucker who led our Tuesday morning assembly today with an ANZAC focus. During this assembly we learned a lot about the traditions of the ANZAC and other memorial services. We now have a descendant fromt the Lone Pine at Gallipoli planted near our flag poles. We were honoured to have Flight Sergeant Olsen attend this assembly.
I would also like to thank the Disco organisers and helpers. This was a great event and extremely well attended. It was a lovely way to end the term after an interesting and very different start.
