Principal's Report
Transfiguration! New staff vaguely sounding like the people I work with, but definitely not looking like them, turning up at the school gate. Classrooms taking on new personalities, magic and super powers around every corner. Students enchanted into a multitude of characters.
A colourful menagerie of hours of creativity presents itself as Glen Huon’s Book Week Parade. What a great morning we’ve had, you all looked terrific. Thanks to all the parents, grandparents and carers who joined in the fun. We have a whole collection of photos you can enjoy on the revolving slideshow in the Foyer.
We’ve had a few visitors over the past week. Our Japanese exchange students made a surprise re visit on the Wednesday, joining delighted students in Artyfacts and Robotics, sharing their leisure interests in Grade 4/5 and playing with the whole school for recess and lunch. Thursday, Huonville Primary arrived to compete in the Interschool Carnival. Thrilling Volley Ball and Football matches were played. In two weeks we will send our teams down to their home ground for the next challenge. See the report inside.
This Thursday, Grades 5 and 6 will compete in a Maths Relay with a difference at Cygnet Primary School. The Obstacle Course component means our teams need to combine agility and strength with brain power. We are entering three teams to compete against Huonville, Geeveston and Cygnet.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of listening to our students play together on the new keyboards. Three new chords mastered and complemented with the Ukuleles to reproduce an acoustic version of “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. Brilliant teamwork Grade 5/6.
