Maths News
Last Thursday we entered the Mathematics Relay held at Cygnet Primary. We were well represented with three teams competing against Cygnet’s three teams and Geeveston’s team.
Our remaining 5s and 6s joined the audience and provided a vocal cheer squad. Many of these were chafing to be substitutes, thank you students for your enthusiasm for Maths!
A combination of brain power, agility on the obstacle course and supreme tenacity meant we came away with a First place (30 points ahead of Cygnet’s second) and an equal Third place with Geeveston.
Our hosts were impressed with our relay performances along with the way we joined in during recess and lunch activities. As Cygnet’s Principal, Mr Williams said, we are “A pleasure to host”.
When the weather warms we hope to return the invitation to Cygnet and Geeveston and host our Glen Huon version of Maths relay excitement on the oval. In the meantime we will have another Grade 4, 5 and 6 relay in the assembly hall in the near future to keep up our winning edge.
