Grade 5/6 Report
For the past five weeks our Grade 5/6 have been trialling a new school resource offered by the Tasmanian Fire Service and giving feedback to help develop it so that it is ready for all Tasmanian schools. Along with three other schools in Tasmania, we participated in the Disaster Resilience Education Program. Our lessons included the topics of;
- What is disaster resilience?
- Our local hazards.
- Disaster risk and vulnerability.
- Becoming disaster resilient.
- Taking action.
To complete the learning and showcase our new understandings we have been engaging in projects that display key points and help teach others what we’ve learned. We were awarded a certificate for our hard work and as a bonus have been asked to help design and create a mural that will be placed within the Judbury community. We’re very excited to be part of this project that will get underway in Term 4.
