BOOK PROMOTION
On Saturday 7th September and in support of Endangered Species Day, the book ‘Fat Chance’ was launched to the public at Fullers Bookshop. This 80 page picture book was written by local Glen Huon writer Lynne Fellowes and was illustrated by our very own Jenny Wright who has been working at our school for over 25 years.

‘Fat Chance’ is a hard cover book with whimsical rhyming verse which highlights the plight of extinct, rare, endangered and vulnerable Tasmanian species. It is a poignant reminder for children of all ages, as to the importance of preserving Tasmania’s wildlife.
'The website fatchancebook.com is being created to continue on from the book and to raise awareness of how we can all make a difference. Lynne Fellowes will be adding information as to what is already being done nationally and globally, as well as highlighting the little things that we can all do every day, both at home and school. She would like to set it up so children can write their comments about the book and about the projects they are involved in'. The website is a work in progress so visit it now, and again in the future to reveal further activities and information.
If you are interested in obtaining a copy of ‘Fat Chance’ for your home library, the book is valued at $29.95 and may be ordered and delivered through Jenny Wright (Ph. 0417339805) or ordered on the website (postal charge applies). Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to give a meaningful gift, than to acknowledge and learn about the various plights of Tasmania’s precious animals.
