Principal's Report 3-12-2019
I had the great pleasure of attending the 25 years of service presentation ceremony with Lynette Goodwin yesterday. Lynette started working at Franklin Primary School in 1993. She started at Glen Huon in July 2011. Lynette was also a Teacher Assistant at Cygnet Primary. She has played an important part in the education of Huon Valley students. Congratulations Lynette.
I wish to congratulate the Grade 3-5 teachers and students who attended the Learn to Swim Program over the last two weeks. We received a phone call from the co-ordinator Fran Hewitt stating how impressed she was with the behaviour of our students. She also let her superiors in the Department know how well behaved and respectful our students were. It makes me feel very proud of our students.
We are having some minor works undertaken on our water supply. This will take place on Monday 9th December. There will be periods of the day where the water will be turned off. There will be porta loos placed on site and drinking water will be readily available.
The Grade 6 students who are attending Huonville High have their orientation day tomorrow. This is an exciting step for them and I wish them the very best.
The triathlon participants head to Bellerive on Friday with Mr West, Ms van der Schans and Deanne Murtagh. Bikes need to be at school by Thursday so Deanne can take them to the event. Good luck team.
