Grade Two/Three are feeling very chilled out!
Grade Two/Three have been looking at Antarctica. No, not with binoculars, it’s too far away. We have been watching BTN (Behind the News) clips about the way people live and work in Antarctica.
We also learnt about some of the animals that live in that environment, why Antarctica is important to scientists and how the future of that continent will affect the rest of the planet.
Did you know that if all the ice on Antarctica were to melt, it would raise the sea levels around the world by sixty metres?
It is a fascinating place and with the chilly weather we are currently experiencing, it is interesting to find out about how weather in Antarctica affects us too.
