Sporting Equipment Donation
As part of her 10 hour inquiry time project, Paige Woolley was busy collecting sporting equipment and raising money to post the equipment to a school on the island of Mare in New Caledonia. Paige saw a need for the sporting equipment when she visited the school earlier this year and saw they only had one soccer ball. While Paige was successful in collecting and raising funds, she was unable to secure a reliable address for postage. That didn’t stop Paige. She was put into contact with a group of Huonville High School students travelling to the country of Laos in April next year. She offered her raised funds of $130 and sports equipment to their project and the group jumped at the opportunity. This equipment will be given to children in villages where they have never seen a football. Pam Lane, one of the project co-ordinators said, “It’s really fun to give the children a football because they’ve never seen them before. We get to show them how to use it and have a bit of fun”.
Well done Paige on reaching out to our global community. We know these donations will be well received.
