Harmony Day
As the Primary School Health nurse, I will be helping Glen Huon to celebrate Harmony Day with some classroom activities on both the 16th & 19th March.
It is a chance for the students to think about their own cultural heritage and how they all belong. I will introduce different cultures from around the world to the children, including information about food, traditions and the environment.
Students will join in making food flags for each of the countries learnt about, decorating the flags with fruit and vegetables, which they then get to eat!
Throughout Harmony Week, the students will make a whole school Harmony Day Paper Doll Chain, where each student decorates and writes their own special Harmony Day message on their paper doll.
On Thursday 19th March, we invite all students and staff to wear orange, as it is the ‘Harmony Day ‘colour.
