Five Bags of Nuts
I’ve notice some of the classes have been focusing on addition and subtraction strategies and the connections between these Mathematical Operations.
Here’s a puzzle that you may be able to use your strategies on to solve.
“I had 100 nuts to share between 5 bags.
In the first and second bags there were fifty two nuts altogether.
In the second and third bags there were forty three nuts altogether.
In the third and fourth bags there were thirty four nuts altogether.
In the fourth and fifth bags there were thirty nuts altogether.”
Your task is to state how many nuts in Bag 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 separately.
Helps to eat some nuts whilst you are thinking!
Enjoy,
