Principal's Report 3-3-2020

We  have started a settled week with our Grade 5-6 students back from camp.  It looks like they had so much fun at camp, one student describing the food as "gourmet" and there was wonder at having dessert at both lunch and dinner.

Canteen and Volunteers

We have had numerous volunteeers for our canteen, Katherine Dewhurst has volunteered to take on a manager's role and will co-ordinate the volunteers and have the canteen opening one day a week.  Teachers are currently canvasing students to see what they would like the canteen to serve within our Move Well Eat Well guidelines and move towards gold accreditiation. There will be further information home as soon as the details are worked out.  The first event run by this group of volunteers will be a sausage sizzle held at the swimming carnival, please have your notes in by the end of today if you wish to order.

In relation to the canteen we now have two volunteers to run the breakfast program.  Jess is volunteering on a Monday and Kobi on Friday.  If you would like to volunteer another day please let the office know.  This is a great way to help the school and get to know the students, they love breakfast club.

Bus Messages

If your child has a change of plans during the day in regards to catching the bus home it is very helpful to us if we know this information as soon as possible.  Frequent changes to travel arrangements throughout the day have led to some students and staff being confused about end of day travel plans.

Vandalism

There was a minor case of vandalism onsite at Glen Huon Primary last night. There is security footage of two youths and a dog onsite at 10.15-10.17. The police have been informed and would like any further relevant information in regards to this vandalism. If you have witnessed any inappropriate behaviour onsite after hours please contact the Huonville Police.
