Look at these patterns, consider the relationship between the areas of colour. How can we describe the space that is occupied by each colour (the area it covers).

Fraction language allows us to communicate that precisely. Share a conversation with someone at home, can you defend your statement, can you identify equivalent fractions (identical space covered).
