Principal's Report 4/08/2020

Brrrrr…..A Chilly Start to the Week!

After thinking that the days were slowly getting lighter and warmer again, there is nothing quite like a cold snap to remind us that it is still very much winter for another month!

Assembly

How wonderful it was to be able to hold an assembly again after so long. Thank you to all the parents who came along to celebrate our learning with us. Whilst there was a bit of paperwork, spacing of chairs and plenty of hand sanitiser involved, it was lovely to see so many of you.

Congratulations to Will and Jason for their marvellous hosting of our assembly. Both of you demonstrated great confidence and maturity in the way you presented the items.

At our assembly we had a special visit from Senator Abetz who came to present the school with a fantastic Lego play and storage table. Emma, one of our wonderful teacher aides, had spotted an advertisement in the newspaper a while ago asking for grant applications to win one of 10 Lego play and storage tables which had been part of a national touring exhibition….complete with LOTS of Lego. Thank you Emma for putting together the grant application! I can’t wait to see some creative Lego constructions happening in our school. Perhaps we should even be in a Glen Huon Lego Masters Challenge!

Congratulations also to our Citizen of the Month nominees and our Aussie of the Month. When I read the things teachers had written about the students they were nominating, I noticed that caring for others, helping others and looking after each other was a bit of a theme. It is great to see people looking after each other so well.

Our recipients:

  • Emma Truran
  • Olive Steenholdt
  • Clancy Stagg
  • Tobias Fennell
  • Quilla Moss
  • Isabelle Dillon
