Number System
The number ten is the backbone of our number system.
When we deeply understand ‘ten of these is one of these’ we have the flexibility to regroup numbers to add and subtract them easily, to understand multiple-digit multiplication and to extend our understanding of the base ten system into decimals.
Classes are continuing to have a focus on Place Value across the school.

Use these ten clues, in order, to find my mystery number.
- It is a five digit whole number.
- It is divisible by 5.
- It is divisible by 4.
- The sum of its ten-thousands digit and thousands digit is 14
- The sum of its ten thousands digit and its hundreds digit is 11.
- The sum of its thousands digit and its tens digit is 8.
- The sum of its hundreds digit and its ones digit is 3.
- The sum of its tens digit and its ones digit is 2.
- It is greater than 80 000.
- Its thousands digit is 6.
