Principal's Report 1/06/2021
Winter colds
We are continuing to experience high levels of student illness. Again, I thank parents for keeping students at home if they are unwell. This is so very important as it prevents viruses from spreading through the school community. Please note that students should not be returning to school until symptoms have gone or medical advice has been sought. If your child becomes unwell through the day, we will be calling home and they will need to be collected from school. If your child is unwell and absent from school, please contact the school office, as we are having to make a lot of follow-up attendance phone calls at the moment, thank you.
Sharing Assembly Reminder
A reminder that our next Sharing Assembly is coming up on Monday 7th June at 2:00pm. Please contact the office if you wish to attend so that we can ensure adequate seating. On the day of the assembly, please also ensure you sign in at the front office and make use of the hand sanitisation station at the entry to the hall.
Song Room Celebration
Our school has been participating in the Song Room program. As part of this program a music specialist comes and works alongside each of the teachers in our school modelling how music can be used in the classroom to enhance learning and thinking. To celebrate and share some of the learning that has been going on, we will be holding a special Song Room Assembly on Tuesday 29th June at 2pm. Each class will be sharing one of the musical ‘items’ they have been learning. Parents are welcome to come. Please contact the office if you wish to attend so that seating can be arranged and also sign in on the day.
Pirate Day and Save the Koala Day
A reminder that Pirate Day is coming up on Tuesday 15th June. This has been organised by Ella one of our Grade 6 students as part of her “I Project”.
Congratulations also to Elvy on a very successful Save the Koala Day and thank you to everyone who supported this.
It is wonderful to see students so passionate about such important causes, finding ways to inform others and learning many skills along the way about how to coordinate events like this.
