Book Week
Well….what a wonderful day we have had celebrating Book Week! So many book characters arrived at school this morning. The Dress-Up Parade was once again a big hit. This year the staff all chose to dress up with a Roald Dahl Theme. Each class is also undertaking some Mathematics activities in class based upon the book their teacher’s costume was inspired by.

Science Week
Last week was National Science Week and on Thursday the 5/6 class attended the Huon STEAM Expo. Students learnt about pollination, solar cookers, found out about soil and planted tomato seeds.

Then on Friday both the 4/5 and 5/6 classes were lucky enough to attend the Festival of Bright Ideas in Hobart. There they learnt about plant-based dyes and undertook some painting with these. They were able to make Solar powered circuits, investigated the pH of various materials, looked at bugs under microscopes, pat baby animals and much, much more.

2021 School Satisfaction Surveys
Each year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys in Tasmanian Government schools, to gain feedback on what families think our schools do well and where you think we may improve.
We encourage each family to complete the survey about Glen Huon Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.
You can complete the online survey at any time until Friday 17 September 2021. Survey link: https://ncv.microsoft.com/t8ayXjNiJq
All responses are anonymous and confidential with the survey carried out on a secure website.
Feedback is only accessible to the school Principal and teachers and relevant Department of Education staff, in online summary report formats with no individuals or families identifiable.
For any assistance please contact Education Performance and Review by emailing: schoolsurveys@education.tas.gov.au.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.
