Mini Action Day
Our Grade 5 and 6 students got to showcase their learning yesterday at the combined valley schools Mini Action Day. We have been working hard on learning through the Let’s Get Together program. We have covered many topics and key areas including teamwork, connection to others, reflecting on identity and character strengths, prejudice, stereotyping and taking action to put our best foot forward as we positively change the things we can in our school and community. We have made a whole school pledge within our school community to look for ways to include others rather than exclude them. Our slogan is: Why be rude? Don’t exclude. This pledge has been presented to each class and students that want to join us have pinned their name to the sheet and will help to make our school a welcome and safe place to be. We were able to show our pledge, and the many other amazing works we achieved throughout this program, to the community and other schools in the valley. This was a fun and valuable experience for each of our students. Well done Grade5 and 6’s.
