Principal's Report 12/10/2021

Welcome back everyone

We are in for an action-packed Term with Swimming, our Colour Fun Run, End Of Year Celebrations and much more.

Welcome back to Miss Munro who has very much enjoyed her long service leave. Mr Rob Hooper is on Long Service Leave this week and we look forward to welcoming Miss Munson back in a few weeks’ time.

Athletics Carnival

Our Athletics Carnival at the end of last term had been rescheduled due to the weather and is due to take place this Thursday 14th October. However, looking at the weather forecast it seems that the weather this Thursday is not looking much more promising. We will again notify families if the carnival has been cancelled via Facebook by Thursday morning at the latest. In the seemingly likely event that we will need to cancel again, the only other Thursday available to us will be Thursday 28th October.

Hats

A reminder to all families that as it is now Term 4, hats will need to be worn in the playground at recess and lunch. Please ensure your child comes to school with a NAMED hat each day. Hats can be left at school if you wish. This is often the best option as it means hats are not accidentally left at home in the morning. Please also note that hats MUST be brimmed hats, NOT caps, as caps do not protect the ears or back of the neck.

School hats are available for purchase from the school office for $8.50

Some people have asked why we do not wear hats all year round. In Tasmania in winter it is very difficult for our bodies to make enough vitamin D because there is less sunlight, UV levels are low and we cover up to keep warm. For this reason we only require hats during the warmer parts of the year when UV levels are much higher.
