I would like to wish all families, staff and students a very safe, restful and happy holiday. Hopefully we get some lovey sunny days and the opportunity to undertake some wintery adventures in the fresh air.
It has been a long term with lots of people battling colds and yet there have been many wonderful times too. I have been loving the hot and delicious canteen lunches provided on Thursdays by our Parents and Friends, the Cross Country Carnival was a wonderful celebration of school spirit and community and the bush playground continues to be a space where creativity and innovation flourishes.
Thank you to everyone for contributing to our amazing little school.
Student Free Day Monday 19th July
A reminder that the first day of Term 3 is a Student Free Day. These valuable days provide an important opportunity for staff to undertake Professional Learning which is then implemented across the school.
Working Bee
As mentioned in last week’s Newsletter, Rob, our school Grounds-person is undertaking a few projects around the school at the start of the school holidays and is looking for a few helping hands from July 5th-7th. If you are able to lend a hand, please contact the office. Thank you.
NAIDOC Week
We began our NAIDOC week celebration today, starting with a cleansing smoking ceremony, a moving Welcome to Country from both Tanya Munro and Bron Englert and the flag raising. More activities will be undertaken over the course of the week.
Reports Parent Teacher meetings
A reminder that Parent-Teacher meetings will be taking place in week 2 of next term from July 26th-29th. If you haven’t already returned your booking form, we encourage you to do so. Confirmation slips will be coming home soon.
State Cross Country
Congratulations to all those students who participated in the State Cross Country Carnival at Symmons Plains last week. A HUGE thank you also to the parents who volunteered their time take students to this, it is very much appreciated.
School Photos
School Photos are booked in for Tuesday 27th July. This is in week 2 of next Term.
The ordering forms have yet to arrive but we will be sending them home as soon we receive them. We are reminding families that this is coming up nice and early so that if needed, considerations can be made with regards to family budgets. As was the case last year, all payments for photos are now being made directly online through the photo company and the school does not actually collect any money. Information on how to do this will be on the order forms
Welcome to the final week of Term 2!
On Wednesday in the Kinder room we will be making scented play dough to take home, playing with the toys and dress-ups, and if the weather permits we'll head outside!
On Thursday we'll be cooking damper on the campfire, making art from found natural objects and exploring the bush playground
On Friday in the Hall we will be having an obstacle course, singing and dancing and then heading up to the kinder for some craft and play time from 10:00 onwards.
We hope to see you there, and wish you wonderful, restful school holidays!
