Welcome Back to Term 3
Hello everyone and welcome back for another term. I hope that you have all had a wonderful holiday and have enjoyed relaxing, spending time together as a family and maybe even braving to cool winter with some outdoor adventures.
Reports and Parent-Teacher Meetings
A reminder that School Reports will be coming home this Friday 23rd July and that Parent-Teacher interviews will then be taking place next week. If you have not already made contact with your child’s teacher to book an interview time, please do so as soon as possible, as these interviews are immensely valuable and important opportunities to discuss your child’s learning and to set any goals for the remainder of the school year.
School Photos
A reminder that School Photos are coming up on Tuesday 27th July. All photo orders and payments are to be made online, including family photos. Please note that orders for family photos must be submitted by 4:30pm on Monday 26th July.
If you have misplaced your photo order details, please contact the school office.
The schedule for the photos is as follows:
9:30 – Kinder
9:45 – Prep
10:00 – 1/2
10:15 – 2/3
10:30 – 4/5
10:45 – 5/6
COVID update
Following on from a direction from the Tasmanian Government, we now have some changed arrangements in place for parents and carers when visiting schools.
You will now need to check in using the Check-in TAS app when entering school buildings; this includes classrooms, the office or the canteen.
Students are NOT required to check-in, these arrangements only apply to adults.
We have posters displayed in and around the school site with the QR code to use for checking in.
For those who do not have a smart phone and need to manually check-in, please come to the school office for assistance.
We appreciate your support in ensuring we are doing the right thing.
For more information, visit www.checkin.tas.gov.au
Please note that anyone visiting the school for longer than 15 minutes will ALSO need to sign in at the office so that we know who is on site in case of an emergency.
Tuesday Morning Library Helpers
We are in the process of ordering a sizeable number of new Guided Reading books for our school Library. These will require processing and covering which will be quite a large job.
If you happen to have some free time on a Tuesday morning from 9:00-11:00 we would absolutely love some help.
Miss Kate Harvey is keen to train a few people up on the ‘art’ of book covering and Mrs Lees will provide morning tea.
Please let the office know if you are available to help and then we will look at setting some dates.
School Association Meeting including Special General Meeting
Our next School Association Meeting will be taking place on Wednesday 4th August at 6pm in the staffroom.
All parents are welcome to attend.
Please note that the meeting will begin with a Special General Meeting for the purpose of electing a new Chairperson. This is required as our current Chairperson, Kobi Goodwin, is no longer able to continue in this position as she is working as a Teacher Assistant in our school and the Chairperson cannot be a member of staff. Nominations for this position (and any other subsequent vacancies) will be taken at the meeting.
A huge thank you to all the parents that gave up a couple of hours in the middle of school holidays to help run the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. I was amazed at how much fun was had.
We had students Neve Watson, Elsie Witts, Luca & Stella Wright and Huonville High student Kristen Watson come and assist with taking orders and payment. It was fantastic to see how the kids grew in confidence and their math skills improved over such a short period of time. It was a great display of what our school is all about.
We raised $730.15 to go towards the playground. This is an amazing result and we hope to do another Bunnings sizzle next year.
