Growth and Development Program
As advised via the newsletter and notices sent home last week, our Growth and Development Program sessions with Nurse Emma will begin for classes as of next week.
Parent Information sessions on our Growth and Development Program were due to take place today.
Unfortunately Nurse Emma was unable to come today and so these have had to be cancelled.
There will instead be a Parent Information session on Tuesday 16 August from 2:15-2:45.
If you have any questions prior to that (or are unable to attend the Parent Information Session) please contact Nurse Emma via email at emma.j.middleton@education.tas.gov.au
We are very lucky and delighted to be able to announce that a wonderful member of our school community, Katherine, has been able to arrange for Woolworths to donate fresh fruit to our school everyone Monday morning.
Thank you to Katherine for organising this and to Woolworths for their very generous donation.
We enjoyed bananas, pears and oranges this week and they were delicious!
We need some volunteers to help with our upcoming Book Fair. Set up will be on Friday August 29th at 2:00pm, and then we will need some assistance after the Book Week Parade on 5th September selling books. Parents are invited to purchase books at the Book Fair after the parade.
If you can help with this, please get in touch with Sarah Webb. sarah.webb@education.tas.gov.au
We are also looking for help with covering books for the library.

We have been inquiring about how and why people decorate themselves across different cultures. We compared two people and the way they had decorated themselves. They lived 400 years and oceans apart but what we found was that there were more similarities than differences between the two people. What did we find out? People all across the world have more similarities than differences.

A little about the Joe Hillel (trio)....
Having captivated audiences at festivals across Australia, singer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Hillel now brings his stunning original songs and provocative re-interpretations to the Franklin Folk Club stage. His writing speaks of love and loss, history and tragedy, reason and passion, immolation and resurrection; all delivered with virtuosic instrumentation and sublime vocal expression spanning over three octaves.
Joe will be joined by Elisse Kleiner on flute and Nick McClean on double bass.
