A very Happy Father's Day for last Sunday to all our dads, grandfathers and all the other special men who play such an important role in raising our children. The impact you have upon your child/ren is so very special and one of great honour.
I am so very sad that I have been away sick this week and have missed out on all the Book Week fun! I have had to make do by enjoying the photos on our school Facebook Page instead.
It has been a very timely reminder about making sure that if we are unwell we stay home to avoid getting others unwell too.
Thank you to all of you who have been supporting us by keeping children at home if unwell.
Please, remember to contact the office on 62666240 in the morning if your child is unwell to save our lovely office staff from having to make lots of follow-up phone calls.
A reminder that our next Sharing Assembly is coming up on Wednesday 14 September at 2:00pm
The Assembly will be on a Wednesday rather than a Monday this time.
Our music teacher, Mrs Tollner, works in our school on Wednesdays, meaning some classes are able to share what they have been learning in Music
Miss Bron our Art teacher is also in our school on Wednesdays, also meaning that she will be able to celebrate some of the great things our students have been creating.
Any families wishing to attend the assembly are asked to contact the school office so that we can ensure we have appropriate spaced seating arranged. Hand sanitiser and face masks (optional) are also provided at the entry to the hall.
As shared in last week's newsletter, the annual School Satisfaction Survey is once again being offered to families to find out what your views are on what our school does well and where it may improve.
We would be grateful if families completed our online survey as your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.
The survey is open from Monday 29 August 2022 until Friday 23 September 2022 and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
Take the online survey by clicking this link or pasting it in your browser: https://ncv.microsoft.com/mYcxpHJgBs
The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.
It is an absolute delight to be able to announce the birth of Mrs Kate Gray's baby, James on 9 August.
Both Mrs Gray and James are doing well and we are just so happy for you.
Term 3 Communicating Learning Progress With Families
This week booking sheets will again be coming home for Parent-Teacher meetings for all grades Kindergarten to Grade 6.
These can be face-to-face or via a phone call, depending upon what families prefer.
Parent-Teacher meetings will take place from September 19th to 23rd.
We very much encourage all families to take up the opportunity to come and speak with their children's teachers.
Terrapin Theatre Company Performance
THE PAPER ESCAPER
Our students had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Terrapin Theatre Company into our school last Friday.
The Paper Escaper was a truly unique and mesmerising story of determination, friendship and the power of following your own path.
There are some great videos and ideas for people to try themselves in the Teacher Resources section of the Terrapin Theatre's Website:

Thank you to the many families who have purchased books from our Book Fair!
Book Fairs help us to get students excited about the wonder of books and reading. After all, when children choose their own books, they will be more excited to read, which then motivates them to read more!
If you have not already had the opportunity, it's not too late to come along any morning this week from 8:30-9:00am and buy a book. Late bus children can stay a bit after 9am as the bus gets in very close to the bell.
A reminder that children can bring money to purchase books without an adult, or adults can come and purchase books with cash or card. There are also some fun posters, rubbers, pens and sharpeners for sale.
Thanks to your purchases the school will be rewarded with funds to then purchase more books for our school library and classrooms.

What a fantastic day we had for our Book Parade!
Families did a wonderful job of making costumes from children’s favourite books. Thank you for your creativity and ideas.
Did anyone notice that the staff came dressed as characters from books by Australian authors? I wonder if any children can find out who the Australian authors were that wrote these books? If you know any of the authors’ names, come to Ms Webb this week and let her know the Book, author and the character that the staff member dressed up as and she may have a prize for you from the Book Fair.

On the 1st Tuesday of the school holidays - 4th October there will be a whole day drama rehersal from 9am to 3.30pm.
Children need to bring a hat and something to eat and drink as if it is a normal school day.
