Celebrating Our Student Data
Students across the school have recently been undertaking end of year assessments in reading and in mathematics.
I was looking specifically at our Prep results the other day and got very excited to see how well our students were doing.
Our final School Association Meeting for 2022 will be held on Wednesday 7th December 2022 at 6pm in the staffroom.
Any parents/carers are welcome to attend.
Next week there will be Nachos on the menu for lunch orders. Please order through the Spriggy Schools app.
There are snack items that can be purchased on Thursdays. We accept cash only at the canteen.
Thank you for your continued support, Laura Corbett.
The 2/3 class (along with Rob's help) have this year created a wonderful new grassed area beside their classroom.
This week the grass had finally grown enough for them to be able to enjoy sitting outside.

The last sharing assembly for the year will be taking place on Wednesday 7 December at 2:00pm in the hall.
We have a number of musical items which will be shared.
Our Final Assembly which will celebrate our Year 6 Students as they move on to high school will be on Monday 19 December. More information about this will be coming home soon.
COVID-safe behaviours reminder
COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses (like the flu) are still circulating in Tasmania. The official COVID-19 risk level has been raised to ‘Moderate’.
Together, we need to keep practising our COVID-safe behaviours to manage the risk.
Simple things we can do:
- do not come to school if unwell – stay home and test
- stay at home while you have symptoms, regardless of the result of a rapid antigen test (RAT)
- cover coughs and sneezes and wash your hands with soap and water, or alcohol-based sanitiser
- try to stay a reasonable distance away from others when you can
- consider wearing a face mask if you wish to – they are readily available for use at the school.
All students should ensure they have access to a quantity of RATs. If you need RATs, please ask for them at the school office so they are in your home ready for use if symptoms develop.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
For any COVID-19 enquiries, please contact the Tasmanian Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738, or Department of Education COVID-19 Support Hotline at COVID19support@education.tas.gov.au or on 1800 816 057.
If you need support translating or interpreting this information, contact the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450.
If you have sold your raffle tickets and would like more, they can be obtained from the office.
The next prize we can announce is two vouchers kindly donated by PEP Pizza.
Please get those tickets sold and return to the office so you don’t miss out! Tickets must be returned by Friday 16th December.

2023 School Levies
School Levies form an important part of our school budget every year.
School Levies help to pay for things like:
- Classroom materials such as exercise books, pencils, glue sticks, pens and so on
- New Library books
- Excursion and bus costs
- Performances
- New computers
Our School Levies have not increased since 2017. Consequently the AGM in March, the School Association moved that our levies be increased by $10 for 2023.
This means that Kinder Levies for 2023 will be $175 and Prep-6 Levies will be $190.
Information on how and when to pay these will come home to families at the beginning of next year.
Please also be aware that low income families may be eligible for the Student Assistance Scheme. Please see Mrs Bender in the office if you have any questions about applying for this.
Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey for Year 4, 5 and 6 students is a universal approach to supporting student wellbeing and has provided our school with wellbeing data to support our improvement planning around student wellbeing. This week we are highlighting our school data from the Loved, Safe and Valued domain, which shows the importance of learners having positive relationships and connections with others and feeling safe and respected in the learning environments.
