Tickets for the End of Year Assembly on Monday 19th December have all gone and have now been sent home.
If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible, as we have a wait list and will offer your tickets to someone else.
Please ensure that you arrive and are seated promptly ready for a 12:30pm start.
A reminder that in the interest of keeping people safe, if you are at all unwell to please not attend.
Please note that if you are taking your child home with you after the assembly it is important that you see your child's teacher before leaving.
Please also note that if your child is being collected by another parent or by a family member we MUST see a note from you. We will not be allowing students to leave the assembly with anyone other than their parents unless we have received a note.
There is no expectation that parents collect their children, and bus transport to and from school will be provided.
On the last day of school (Wednesday 21st December) we will be having whole school activities and a picnic lunch from 11:30am - 1:10pm.
Students will be provided with a free BBQ lunch and will be able to participate in a range of activities such as bubble play, basketball, face painting, bush play and SRC led games on the oval.
This will be a lovely way for students to spend some time together on their last day as we bid our Grade 6 students farewell.
Breakfast club will be running until the last school day which is Wednesday 21st December.
I would like to say a huge thank you to our volunteers who gave up their mornings to come in and feed our students. They are Abbie Doyle, Brydie Bremmer, Selena Lovell, Hayley Bird, Narelle Allan, Emily Hill, Brad and Juliet Forno. Thank you so very much, the students and staff greatly appreciate it.
Also, a very big thank you to Michelle Lovell who every week goes to Foodbank for us to collect some bread and milk and any other goodies there might be. Thank you for all you do for our staff and students.
Early next year we will again be calling for volunteers to help run our breakfast club program. If you would like to help, please contact Laura Corbett on 0437177507 or join our Glen Huon Primary Parents and Friends Facebook group.
Student Voice in Huon Valley Council Vision
On Tuesday students from Glen Huon Primary School joined other students from Dover District School, Geeveston Primary and Franklin Primary at Huon Valley Council to lend their voice to the Valley’s vision for the next 10 to 15 years. Teams were created with members from each of the schools to share ideas and undertake activities. Students were also interviewed individually about their thoughts on living in the Huon Valley and how best it could be improved.
Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey for Year 4, 5 and 6 students is a universal approach to supporting student wellbeing and has provided our school with wellbeing data to support our improvement planning around student wellbeing. This week we are highlighting our school data from the Healthy domain, which shows the importance of learners having their physical, developmental, psychosocial and mental health needs met, with resources provide to support their growth.

Our first performance is done and dusted. We're now looking forward to tonight and Friday's performances.
It's a huge task these children take on and I couldn't be more proud of them. What a wonderful job they did.
