A BIG well done and thank you to everyone for making such an effort to get all the Validation, Excursion, ICT and Aquatic Activity forms back in time for today's swimming carnival.
And a BIG thank you to Ms Goodwin for organising and processing all of these!
We have made a great start to 2023.
If your child has asthma or anaphylaxis, please note that we require an annual Asthma or Anaphylaxis plan from your child's doctor.
This is very imporant and we ask that families make this a priority as soon as possible.
A reminder that we have a number of students within our school who have anaphylactic reactions to nut products; specifically peanuts, pistachios, cashew nuts and sesame seeds. Letters will be sent home with classes who have a student directly impacted by this, however we ask that the whole school is vigilant in avoiding sending students to school with nut products in their lunch boxes.
If you have any further questions or concerns please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs Lees.
To order lunch from the canteen, parents need to download the Spriggy Schools app. to register and start placing orders:
- Download the Spriggy Schools app.
- Add a profile for each of your children, making sure you select Glen Huon Primary School and your child’s class.
- Start placing lunch orders!.
If you have any questions about the app, please contact Spriggy Schools via their website.
If you have any questions regarding the canteen, please contact Laura on 0437177507
Please note the following:
- You must put money on your account prior to confirming an order
- Order cut off time is 10am Wednesday. After 10am your child’s order will get missed.
- There is a charge of 30 cents per child per order. This is added to your order total. That is a fee from Spriggy.
The canteen is open Thursdays at recess and lunch selling snack items. We accept cash only at the canteen.
Next week’s special will be spaghetti bolognaise.
Thank you for your continued support.

Being part of a small community school means that the community is often needed to help at the school. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the Breakfast Club, canteen, covering books, reading to kids, helping at school carnivals or helping out with other things around the school. This is also open to grandparents, aunts and uncles, carers and friends. All you need is your Working with Vulnerable People Card, which can be applied for online and photos taken at Service Tas.
If you can spare some time, it makes a huge difference to the school. If you wish to get involved, please join our Facebook group to stay in the loop of upcoming events, contact the school office or message Laura Corbett on 0437177507

Our Grade 5/6 Robotics program lead by Sam Ryan is up and running for 2023.
Students will create, problem solve, work as teams...and have a lot of fun along the way!
The Grade Five/Six space has had an amazing transformation over the holiday break and we are all very happy to be back and enjoying our little house on the hill. We have had a fresh coat of paint inside, a new back fence and the gardens have been loved and cared for by Rebecca Dewhurst – a big thank you for that lovely surprise. We have new pin boards up and running, thanks to Dan Witts for the time he spent making sure they were just perfect. Currently we are looking forward to the upcoming camp and spending more time getting to know one another.
Here is something we did last week as an introduction to ourselves and our families. You may even be able to spot your family amongst these selfies.
It’s pleasing to see everyone back at school, ready to play, share, create and interact with their peers. Initially, we have been getting to know each others activities and establishing classroom routines. A common “through line” across the curriculum has been “traits.”
What special characteristics do people and other objects have? How can we use these characteristics to classify things. We can classify numbers, classify personality and behaviour traits, we can classify living and non-living things, we can classify animals and plants. The list is endless.
Here are some photos of our Character trait posters.
