Congratulations to Miss Munson who this week celebrated a very special milestone. This Tuesday 23 May marked exactly 40 years since Miss Munson began her teaching career.
It was our pleasure and delight to be able to celebrate this with her.
A reminder that we have a sharing assembly tomorrow (Friday 26 May) at 1:50pm.
Families are most welcome to attend.
Class teachers are currently in the process of writing feedback comments for students and families as part of the Evidences of Learning which will start to accompany reports this year.
For 2023 there will be one Evidence of Learning for both English and Mathematics sent home. For students with Individual Learning Plans one evidence per goal will be sent home over the course of the year.
Reports and Evidences of Learning will be coming home on Thursday 8 June
Families will then be invited to book a Parent-Teacher meeting from June 13 - 23 which is a rich opportunity to further discuss your child’s progress. Booking sheets will be sent home next week.
In 1/2 we’ve still been working very hard on the Letters and Sounds program – we’ve now learnt about 21 of the 44 sounds and our sound wall is looking great. We’re developing some amazing reading and writing skills using this foundational knowledge. We’re almost ready to take things to the next level where we’ll start learning explicitly about consonant and vowel digraphs.

The canteen is open Thursdays at recess and lunch selling snack items. We accept cash only at the canteen.

On Wednesday May 24th we went to the Huon and Channel Cross Country Carnival. Everyone had a fantastic day and there were some fantastic results across the board. It was great to see everyone trying their best and plenty of school cheering.
We would like to thank the people who came with us Deanne, Katherine, Laura and Mr West.
