Literacy Numeracy Week Celebrations
To celebrate Literacy and Numeracy Week this year we decided to access some of the Let’s Talk Resources and ask the question, “Name 5 things bigger than a bus”.
Each child in the school was given a bus lanyard and was supported to think of 5 things bigger than a bus.
Then…. At recess and lunch on Thursday everyone wore their bus lanyards and engaged in lots and lots and lots of talking, comparative language and discussion by sharing what they had come up with.
The Let’s Talk website has lots of great ideas for families and children of all ages to encourage talk, language and thinking.
Teacher Assistant Appreciation Week
To recognise the incredible work our Teacher Assistants do in supporting our school, a special morning tea was held on Tuesday.
I know I am not alone in saying to these remarkable people in our school that we value so very deeply the work that you do. We thank you for all the care and support that you give.
If you happen to see these special people around our school, please don’t hesitate to stop and say a big Thank You to them every now and then, as they certainly deserve it!
Every year the Department of Education conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out our school does well and where it may improve.
We invite our Glen Huon Primary School families to complete the online survey . Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school-planning and decision-making.
The survey is open until Friday 22 September 2023 and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
Take the online survey by clicking this link or pasting it in your browser: https://ncv.microsoft.com/6BP3Ejcoa3
The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.
All families use the same survey link and no identifying information is collected. A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department of Education staff.
Please contact the school if you require any assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.
A reminder that Parent-Teacher meetings will be taking place over the next 2 weeks.
If you have not yet contacted your child’s teacher to arrange a meeting, we encourage you to do so, as we would love to see you.
Parents and Friends School Disco
Thank you so much to all the students, staff and parents who supported out Parents & Friends Disco on Friday night!!
It was so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves, dancing and singing along to the songs!! The girls vs boys dance off was a big hit and I'm positive we can make sure that we can do that bigger and better for future discos!!
A big thank you to all the staff and parents who stepped up and helped out on the night and in the preparation beforehand!! These events could not happen without the hard work of all volunteers involved!!!
Thank you, Megan Perkins
