Yesterday marked the end of an era for the Watson family as their youngest child attended her final Launching Into Learning (LIL) session before heading into Prep next year. Starting their LIL journey back in 2014, all 3 girls have loved attending the sessions fostering play, connection with other children and becoming familiar with our school.
Our LIL program ‘Seedlings’ will of course continue next year for children aged 0-4 (including students attending kindergarten) and we look forward to welcoming both new and existing families into our school.
A reminder that our End of Year Assembly is coming up on Monday 18 December from 11:30-1:00
Please be aware that it is in the Glen Huon Primary School Assembly Hall.
As parking is limited, families may well need to park their cars at Glen Huon Park, in which case please allow a little additional time for walking over to the school.

This artwork is from students in the Year Two/Three class. Our artist focus was Anna Blatman, the contemporary Australian artist. We used acrylic paint, watersoluble oil pastels and collage.
The foxes have been created by the Kindergarten students using watersoluble oil pastels and oil pastels.
These artworks have been created by the Year Five/Six students using a monoprinting technique. The students then chose from a range of mediums including graphite crayons, watersoluble graphite crayons, HB pencils of various numbers, graphite putty and graphite powder to sketch an animal.
More monoprints/sketches have been created by Year Five/Six. Our artist focus was the contemporary Australian artist, Michael Wolfe. We created these artworks using acrylic paint with a strong focus on colour mixing and creating tone by applying white paint using 'wet on wet' techniques.

Robotics students last week spoke to Nehir, a Turkish international student in Japan and one of the winners of this years First Robotics Competition in New York. Nehir spoke of her journey from primary school, working with Lego robotics to helping to develop and design a robot over three metres tall for this year’s challenge. 5/6 students at the same time had the opportunity to chat and ask questions of Nehir about robotics, Nehir’s dreams for the future, and what it’s like to study in a Japanese high school.
Over the last few weeks there has been a high number of children presenting with upset stomachs.
It would be appreciated if parents could talk to their children about the advantages of washing their hands and/or using hand sanitiser.
Hand sanitiser is available in the classrooms.
Parents can take their children to Telstra payphones, and make a call to Santa's workshop.
Please phone #HO HO HO (or #46 46 46).
