Notification of Absence
If your child is going to be away on any given day please contact the office prior to 9.00 to make a notification. It is important that we have accurate records around attendance. I also takes the office staff a great deal of time contacting all absentees, it is your role as carers to notify the school.

In Prep/1 we have been asking questions and working to find out the answers. One question we asked was ‘Why does popcorn pop? When we looked at some popping corn, each kernel is small and hard. When we put some in the machine and used heat, things changed.
What did we hear? Loud popping noises
What did we see? Large, white, fluffy popcorn flying out of the machine.
What did we smell? A sort of ‘roasting’ smell.
So why did this happen? Then we looked at when water is heated it turns to steam. Inside each kernel is a tiny droplet of water. When we heat it, the water droplet turns to steam and the kernel explodes. POP. A fluffy new piece of popcorn is born. It’s fun waiting for the corn to pop – and it’s also fun asking questions!
On Tuesday, last week, a team of 11 people went to Kingborough Sports Centre to play volleyball, they were split up into 2 teams.
After around an hour and a half of playing the winners of each pool, (A, B, C & D) we discovered that Glen Huon 1 (Lara, Kelsea, Paige, Jazmine, Daniel & Erin) had won pool D!
We all had a really good day overall & had lots of fun, even though we did lose our voices from cheering!!
Mathematics is about embracing the challenge to recognising patterns.
Checking solutions if they are complete and make sense.
Allowing yourself and others time to think
Communicating ideas convincingly…
No matter how much experience you might have, you can always ‘gain from’ and ‘add to’ possibilities to make contributions more powerful.
“Which is a better fit,
A square peg in a round hole or a round peg in a square hole?”
(Note: the pegs are maximum size possible in each case)
Can you Convince Me?!
