It was an absolute honour to hear students from our Grade 5/6 class perform at the Franklin Folk Club on Saturday evening.
They performed 4 items; the school song, an original song written by the class called Let There Be Peace, You Gotta Sing and finally a percussion piece.
They certainly represented our school very well and received huge rounds of applause.
A big thank you to Mrs Tucker and Elisse Kleiner for accompanying them.
A reminder to families that end of year reports will be sent home on Thursday 15th December 2022.

Children's University Graduation
Congratulations to our Children’s University Graduates for 2022!
19 students completed hours needed to graduate. A big round of applause on a fantastic effort goes to Ashlegh, Pippa, Poppy, Mikayla, Isabelle, Katie, Maya G, Emily, Emma, Reuben B, Quilla, Elise, Clancy S, Marni, Esther, Amelie, Renn, Finn and Elsie. Unfortunately Mikayla was unwell and therefore unable to attend, so a special ceremony will be held at one of our upcoming assemblies to present her with her graduation certificate.
An especially BIG thank you to Mrs Dorian and Michelle Lovell for coordinating Children’s University again this year. Without their commitment each week in helping students record and check on their hours of learning, this program would never be the success that it is.
Any students in Grades 2 upwards wishing to join the program next year, keep an ear out on how to join.
This term we are focussing on a unit of work about the world in which we live. We are researching individual countries, posing questions about the world and publishing answers to make a class book titled “Questions And Answers About The World.” We are also working in groups to research characteristics about each of the seven continents.
We are learning lots about the geographical features of the world and social and cultural facts of countries around the world.
Later in the term we will then compare knowledge about other countries with our own country, Australia. What similarities and differences are there?
The children would like to share some of their responses to the question we discussed as a class.
If you were given three wishes for the world, what would they be?
Here are some of our responses………………….
Kylie - I wish that people had enough money to survive.
Sam J – I wish that the whole world had peace
Eddie – I wish for war to end
Scarlett - I wish that poor people could find safe places to live, have food to eat, clean water and medicines to help when they get sick.
Isabelle – I wish to stop climate change, so all the ice stops melting that is destroying animal habitats.
Elise – I wish that we could sick people to be happy people
Chace – I wish that global warming would ease.
Iris – I wish that animal cruelty would stop.
Dash – I wish that every country could share resources.
Indi - I wish that all people would always have enough food and that people would not die of starvation.

Hannah – I wish that people would stop using plastics.
Norah – I wish people would stop using fossil fuels and other bad stuff
Emma - I wish that there was no more pollution.
Thomas – I wish for less animals becoming extinct

Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey for Year 4, 5 and 6 students is a universal approach to supporting student wellbeing and has provided our school with wellbeing data to support our improvement planning around student wellbeing. This week we are highlighting our school data from the Learning domain, which acknowledges that learners who are supported to be resilient, creative and curious thinkers are more likely to engage in lifelong learning.
