We are coming to the end of Term 3. School holidays start next week on Monday and continue to the 9th October.
The kinder build has been very interesting throughout the term. The roof went on over the weekend just gone. Last week we had a new water tank installed and the pump and filtering system upgraded. Our water supply should now be much more reliable.
I have seen some great learning taking place on my classroom walk throughs. I walked in when the Grade 1/2 were undertaking a very loud activity exploring the concept of volume in measurment. The Grade 4/5 had an engaging session making sushi.
The Grade 5/6 were having a very in depth discussion around place value and the language related to it. Unfortunately due to my leg I have not made it up the hill to the Kinder but will certainly be there next term.
The LiL sessions are vibrant and well attended. I introduced another new family to the bush play session last week. A reminder that if you are intending to enrol for Kindergarten next year please do so now, forms are available at the office.

Garage Trail Sale School Fundraiser!
On the weekend of 21st and 22nd November the school will be holding a Garage Sale as part of the annual Garage Sale Trail. The funds raised will go towards completely updating the school playground. More details about when donations can be brought into the school will be supplied. Please make sure that all items are of good saleable quality. Any help on the day to man the garage sale will also be wonderful and that way we can make sure we hold it over both days.

Class 1/2 Science Inquiry - Light and Sound
The children have discovered that most forms of communication need light and/or sound to be successful. We tried to think of a form of communication that does not need light and/or sound. Eleanor worked out that 'touch' does not need light or sound, and it is a form of communication, for example, reading Braille or a having a hug. Can you think of any other forms of communication that does not need light and/or sound? Let’s see who reads the newsletter! If you can think of another form of communication that does not involve light and/or sound, come and find Ms Webb and let her know this week.
The children are finishing their Light and Sound Science Inquiry by answering the question – How can we communicate with light and/or sound? Here are some of the plans for what they are going to design and produce this week.
This is our last week for Term 3, so we will be having end of term celebrations!
Wednesday ~ we will get messy with slime and make our own maracas.
Thursday ~ we'll be roasting potatoes on the campfire and making nature pictures.
Friday ~ we'll have an obstacle course and play with the musical instruments.
Saturday ~ 3rd October, during the school holidays, we will be running our monthly Bush Playgroup weekend session, from 9am -11am. We'll cook damper, make nature paints and build using ropes and found objects. Siblings welcome!

It’s nearly holiday time.
For those of us who have pets, a chance to spend more time with them along with our families.
Here’s a puzzle to ponder over whilst you all enjoy your well earned break.
Two cats and two dogs need to cross the backyard.
Each turn a cat or dog may either move one space forward or make one jump.
A cat can jump over a dog or a dog over a cat, but
A cat will not jump over another cat nor a dog over another dog.
How many moves will it take for the dogs and cats to cross to the opposite side of the yard?
How did you go, here’s the next challenge…
Three cats and three dogs need to cross the backyard.
As before, each turn a cat or dog may either move one space forward or make one jump.
A cat can jump over a dog or a dog over a cat, but
A cat will not jump over another cat nor a dog over another dog.
How many moves will it take for the dogs and cats to cross to the opposite side of the yard?
Just a reminder for our school holiday rehearsal. The first Tuesday of the holidays 29th September from 9am - 3.30am.
Children will need to bring a packed lunch as for a normal day, water bottle and hat.
If you haven't contacted me about this could you please phone me on 0417660232.
Thank you
