Staff are continuing their professional learning journey with the final of 5 sessions focussed on improved learning outcomes in spelling being undertaken tomorrow afternoon. Teachers are creating word aware classrooms and encouraging inquiry around the construction of words. Language such as suffix and prefix are being used across the school and a range of strategies from sound, visual, meaning, connecting and checking are being used to explore words. Exploration and inquiry help students understand words and this helps them with spelling.

As they have walked around the school they have commented on the way in which the children play and engage positively with each other. They're a credit to us.
