We will be planting the new Pin Oak tree on Thursday morning 12th November at 9.00am. If you wish to be here for the planting please let the office know so we can ensure appropriate spacing.

The Primary Learn to Swim is off to a good start with the weather being favourable to us. Please ensure that your child has sunscreen and a hat.
Staff are continuing their professional learning journey with the final of 5 sessions focussed on improved learning outcomes in spelling being undertaken tomorrow afternoon. Teachers are creating word aware classrooms and encouraging inquiry around the construction of words. Language such as suffix and prefix are being used across the school and a range of strategies from sound, visual, meaning, connecting and checking are being used to explore words. Exploration and inquiry help students understand words and this helps them with spelling.
We have had a range of visitors to our school in recent weeks and they have been very impressed with the friendly manner in which our children interact and respond to visitors. As they have walked around the school they have commented on the way in which the children play and engage positively with each other. They're a credit to us.
Please help support your school raise money for a completely new and updated playground. Any donations for the Garage Sale will be welcome but please make sure that they are of good saleable quality. You can bring them to the school from Monday 16th November but as we have limited storage space please try and leave it until Thursday 19th or Friday 20th especially if they are larger items. We could really do with some help on the day, Saturday 21st November. Please contact Megan on 0427 396 374 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help out, even if it is just for an hour. I will be creating a roster and would love to put your name down!! We will also be having a Parents and Friends meeting on Wednesday 4th November starting at 1.50pm at the school and we would love to see you there. We will be discussing the Garage Sale but also planning some events for next year and everyone and their ideas are welcome.
We are inspired to bring many of the tasks and learning experiences to all of our Glen Huon’s classrooms.
Here’s a particularly challenging question courtesy of Di Siemon.
Remember make it, draw it, graph it, imagine it.
I’d love to see your beginnings and strategies.
