A very heart felt thank you to all of our families for supporting our staff to attend the Union Stop Work Action yesterday. I can honestly say that I felt deeply touched by this support. So much of what we are campaigning for is about increased support for our precious children; increased support in classrooms, increased support in the form of more social workers, speech and language pathologists and psychologists, increased support in the form of smaller class sizes. A message which came through repeatedly from the speakers at the rally yesterday said was “…because we care.” This, I felt, perfectly summed up the reason why we were gathered on the lawns of Parliament House.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Sharing Assembly this week.
These assemblies are such a wonderful way of celebrating learning. It also gives our students a valuable opportunity to develop their confidence at speaking in front of an audience.
Next week there will be burgers on the menu for lunch orders. Please order through the Spriggy Schools app.
There are snack items that can be purchased on Thursdays. We accept cash only at the canteen.
Thank you for your continued support.

Congratulations to Donna Watson and Annette Carson, two of our wonderful staff members who have been presented with certificates on completion of their professional learning about Using Questioning when working with students to support learning.
Staff within our school are constantly undertaking professional learning, as we too are Life-Long Learners, just like we are encouraging our students to be.
In Grade 1/2 we have been looking at Poetry.
We are writing acrostic poems about our own names. We started with co-writing an acrostic poem about our lovely TA Kobi.
Here are a few examples and we will share some more of our finished poems with you all in the next assembly.
