NAIDOC week celebrations are being held nationally this Sunday 2nd July.
Every year there is a theme and this year it is ‘For Our Elders’.
As advertised in previous newsletters, we have decided to hold an open afternoon for our elders on Friday 7 July from 2:00-2:55.
This is the last day of Term 3.
Many students will be creating personalised invitations to give an elder in their family inviting them to come along and share stories of their childhood experiences, comparing what is the same and what is different about school then and now. There may also be opportunities to share books and stories, building upon our schoolwide focus on Reading.
We look forward to welcoming our elders into our school.
A reminder that this coming Thursday 6th July is
PJ DAY!!!
Yippee, wear your pyjamas to school!!!
Sleeping lions with Katie and Lani at lunch!
No money needed!
We have tried to keep prices as low as possible for all families to be able to access canteen. Unfortunately due to rising costs, we need to increase the cost of our meals.
As of next term, all our meals will be going up by $0.50 . Please remember all money raised goes back to the P&F fundraising and helps purchase items for the school.
Thank you for your continued support.
We our Grade 4, 5 and 6 students enjoyed a visit from some former students on Tuesday who came to talk about the experience of moving from Primary School to High School.
They talked about things that are the same and different which included all the great options and subjects on offer.
Principal Janelle Reeves accompanied them and also answered lots of questions about what it’s like to go to high school.
It was great to see Layla, Brodie and Riley again and to continue to build connections with our local high school.
Christmas in July Raffle
Please help the students by selling your booklet of tickets. All funds raised goes back into the school to purchase items to help improve your child's experience and education.

This week our Prep and Grade 2/3/4 classes visited the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. We had a wonderful time!
We learned all about life in Antarctica. We got to see how big an emperor penguin really is, touch real penguin feathers and seal fur, whale baleen and albatross bones!
Did you know that krill can live up to 12 years? They shed their skin and grow every year, but if they don't get enough food to eat, they can also shed their skin and shrink a few sizes! ?
Everyone loved looking at the amazing displays in the Museum and the Bonds Store building, and the bus ride was a big hit too!

Symmons Plains State Cross Country Carnival
The State Cross Country was held on Tuesday 27 June. 2200 athletes participated in the event!
Representing the Grade 3 girls were Emily and Sophie.
Representing the Grade 5 girls were Lilly and Isabelle
Representing the Grade 6 girls were Poppy, Mikayla and Maya.
It was a 2km track for the Grade 3 girls and a 3km track for the Grade 5/6 girls. A highlight was seeing the girls stick together and cheering each other on, as well as other schools, from the sidelines.
A BIG thank you to the families who gave their time to support their children in participating in this carnival.
Our next sponsors are Pennicott Wilderness Cruises, Goodwin Welding, Little Ranch Photography and Bonorong Wildlife Park. All have donated very generous prizes for our raffle and we very much appreciate it so please show your support of these businesses by selling your tickets and using their services.
